I found the best article about how to get the current user in InfoPath WITHOUT WRITING CODE!  Amazing, especially considering I work at a “no custom code allowed” company..  Much thanks to Itay Shakury. 

Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003 SP1 introduces a number of new controls. One of these new controls, the file attachment control, enables you to insert files which will be encoded and saved with the form. This control opens up a number of new scenarios not easily possible before SP1.

I will never go back to static wireframes after using this puppy.  I love how easy it makes it to create really incredible functional prototypes that just totally WOW clients.  Trust me.  Try it.

I just love the 37 Signals peeps.  And this book is a perfect example of why.  They strictly abide by the “don’t over engineer it!” mantra..
